TinyEYE's History
Before co-founding TinyEYE, Greg Sutton was the CEO of the Saskatchewan Advanced Technology Association. His sister, Marnee Brick, was a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a private therapy company, where she also served as Director of Human Resources for the Board.
The TinyEYE vision originated from a conversation between Greg and Marnee late one evening. Greg had called to say hello, but as usual, Marnee had no time to talk because she had to get done all of her paperwork, reports, calling, and planning for the next day. She explained to Greg how it seemed impossible to complete these tasks during the work day because she drove for hours to reach the numerous communities she served. Marnee wished out loud for fewer miles on the road and more hours in the day. Greg suggested they find a way to “beam” Marnee to her schools, with all of her activities and documentation tools, so she could eliminate the driving time, while increasing the direct time with her students.
Extensive market research confirmed the challenges SLPs face with serving their caseloads and revealed the immense amount of underserved communities with limited or no access to quality speech services. Greg and Marnee committed themselves to creating a solution that would give all children equal access to quality therapy services, while providing SLPs with an incredible platform for making this happen. It would be called TinyEYE, as the tiny eye of a webcam would make it possible to see children all over the world. They made it their goal to reach these underserved children and leave no child behind.
Innovation mandates the evolution of today’s limitations. On their relentless pursuit to eliminate barriers to accessing quality services, Greg and Marnee pushed for SLP associations to update their Code of Ethics, advocated for improved bandwidth in rural communities, visited the legislature to discuss the adversity in underserved communities, and spoke at international conferences. They assembled a world class team of inspirational people and built the first revolutionary online speech therapy platform.
Today, TinyEYE’s online Speech-Language Pathologists serve children around the world using the most advanced, award winning online speech therapy platform.
